New York Times reports: “Vibe’s closure leaves just one large-circulation magazine, The Source, focusing on hip-hop and R&B. The Source has had its own troubles, going through a bankruptcy and emerging under new ownership last year. A rock-focused magazine, Blender, folded last year.”

Umm…has NYT ever heard of a magazine called XXL?

 After the BET Awards on Sunday, rumors started that Jay-Z refused to perform if Chris Brown also hit the stage and now rappers are reacting. Skull Gang leader Juelz Santana weighed in on the situation “i take nothin away from Jay-Z,” he wrote on his Twitter. “i dont wanna sound like a Hater but his swagger was on Zero yesterday. & i just heard thru the grape vine that Jay-Z said he would not Perform if Chris Brown was gonna perform.. SMH Sucker Move I woulda rather seen Chris Brown come out & do his tribute to [Michael Jackson]. It woulda been the 1st time he Performed since ? I know he woulda Killed it.”

Juelz went on to further bath Jigga. “ok Tweople. Yall do the Math. MJ just died the show as a Tribute to MJ. so not only does he say he down want chris to perform & do what would of been probably the best MJ tribute, but he coulda atleast did H-to tha IZOO cuz it has the MJ beat and Put MJ’s name in it.”

 On an episode of “The View” that aired earlier this week, rapper Kanye West revealed that he and Lady Gaga will co-headline a tour that will begin in the fall.

Instead of Lady Gaga performing as an opening act, the two will both serve as the tour’s headlining artists.

“She’s talented and so incredible that she’s not an opening act,” Kanye explained on the ABC talk show. “We’re doing it together, with no opening act.”

 As always, Harlem, NY has formed yet another Hip-Hop bond that’s taken the industry by storm. DJ Webstar’s infectious solo cut, “Dancin On Me”, which is currently sweeping through nightclubs throughout the country, is not only climbing every Billboard chart in existence, but has also sparked a light bulb in the head of the song’s key feature guest, Jim Jones to conjure up the idea of a duet album.

But before plans were even birthed, neither Jones nor Webstar had any idea the tune would take off like it did. Webstar explained to BET.com, “I didn’t know what to expect when I put the record out- I wasn’t expecting a big response. The response got so big, especially after Jim got on there. That basically took it to an entirely different level.”

MJ’s shady @ss doctor just quit his private practice yesterday. Interesting timing. Sounds like he’s been practicing unethical medicine for quite some time. Wonder how many other patients have “bought” their way to unhealthy doses of pharmeceutical drugs?

We just got a letter that Michael Jackson’s doctor sent to his patients 11 days ago, announcing that he will be indefinitely leaving his medical practice.

Dr. Conrad Murray sent the note on his letterhead from his medical practice in Las Vegas. He says, “I am deeply saddened to leave you at this point, but please know my absence is not permanent.” He continues, “In my absence, I will continue to manage the practice, and be involved as much as possible but from a distance.”
